I'm not really sure why,
but it seemed like a good idea to post here again.

I'm tired of the present, avoidant of the past, and nervous about the future.
But I'm not upset.
It's nice knowing that there are people who will always help you
(and for real)
instead of people who profess friendship and leave when it's convenient.

So let's not get carried away with the process
of elimination; I don't want to waste your time.

I don't have a clue what's going on for next year.
AmeriCorps? ASU? Fordham? USC? UT? KU? UI? OU? UNO? Tulane? Somewhere else? Coaching? Debating?
It's scary.
But somehow, I just feel this insurance
deep in my bones
that everything will be alright.

I used to rely on self-medication; I guess I still do that from time to time.
But I'm getting better at fighting the future.
"Someday you'll be fine.."
Yes, I'll be just fine.

I feel like part of the old me is coming back.
Maybe that's what's so new.

with love,
-m

i know you're probabaly not looking for advice, but taking a year off would be really amazing if you have the luxury of doing so. i definitely was not ready to be back in an academic setting this fall and am only now getting my academic shit together again.

but, in general, it's good that you seem to know that everything will be alright. college is what you make of it and i feel like if i was at ou my college experience so far might not have differed incredibly from my experience at yale. so, yeah. you're mature and that's really good.

on another note, debate? how are things going? has the bixby green corn classic happened yet???

Dude, whatever you want to do, you can do it, you just gotta be an adult and make a decision, we can talk about college sometime.

i know that you're going to break with tradition no matter what you end up doing next year

the process is scary as hell (at least to me) because of the uncertainty of it all--i'm jealous of your assuredness that it's all going to work out for the best

and that cd is AMAZING

while I can't speak for everyone, I think that a lot of people feel tired of the present, I know I do... but your assuredness comforts me, because I don't really like not knowing what's going to happen next year
